Dry-Below Deck Systems in Georgia

A dry-below system is a water management solution installed beneath a second-story deck. Unlike a simple tarp or screen, a proper dry-below system collects, channels, and diverts every drop of rain that passes through the deck — leaving the area below completely usable in any weather.

How Dry-Below Systems Work

The system consists of interlocking panels installed in an aluminum framework beneath the deck joists. The panels are pitched toward a collection channel that runs to a perimeter gutter. The gutter connects to a downspout that routes water away from the foundation — completing the drainage loop.

The finished underside looks like a real ceiling — clean, painted panels in white or beadboard style. No visible hardware, no visible water management. Just a dry, attractive outdoor space.

Why Georgia Homes Need This

Heavy summer thunderstorms

Georgia's afternoon storms dump large amounts of rain quickly. Without drainage, the under-deck area floods and takes hours to dry.

Year-round deck moisture

Morning dew and humidity mean under-deck furniture, flooring, and structures stay damp — causing mold and rot without a proper ceiling.

Foundation protection

A dry-below system ensures rainwater is routed away from the foundation — not draining directly against it from deck drainage.

Full-year usability

A dry outdoor room under the deck extends your usable living space by 3–4 months per year in Georgia's climate.
